Kingsclere

Fancy a day in the country?

Lunch, dinner or drinks in a historic, cosy country pub?

Originally 3 cottages ‘The Crown, Kingsclere’ was reinvented as a public house in the 1800’s hosting auctions in the 1850’s, entertainment in the ‘Assembly Room’ in the 1920’s and even had a ladies only tearoom.  Ideally located in Hampshire we attract guests from far and wide with our intriguing history and perfect placement for visitors and walkers eager to take in the beautiful surroundings of Kingsclere.

Grab your walking boots, stride out and build up an appetite on one of Kingsclere’s great walks.  We’ll see you after for a relaxing long lunch, dinner or drinks.

Don’t forget, we’re dog friendly too, here’s some of our favourite walks:

Walk 1 - Perfect views

Walk 2 - Wonderful woodland

Walk 3 - Muddy but flat!

Walk 4 - Starts by the pub!

Walk 5 - A quick stroll

Not into walking, why not visit some of the great attractions we have here in Hampshire. We've picked a few to get you started.  Jane Austen's house  is a short drive away in the village of Chawton.  Both within easy reach are The Vyne and Stratfield Saye house as is Highclere Castle.

Enjoy a day at the races?  Newbury Racecourse is close by and we’re here at the end of the day to host your dinner or drinks event in our Secret Garden or private dining area.  There’s no need to drive, take a cab instead.
